For some time now, local companies have faced significant challenges in fully participating in the mine supply chain, often struggling to compete with multinational companies due to capacity gaps. These gaps limit their ability to leverage business opportunities and maximize their potential within the sector.

In response to these challenges, the Northwestern Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NWCCI), with the support of Kansanshi Mining PLC (KMP), organized a successful training program on tendering, bid preparation, and pricing. This program was held from 31st July to 2nd August 2024 at Floriana Lodge in Solwezi and saw 70 participants receiving certificates of completion.

The training aimed to equip local businesses with the skills needed to improve their competitiveness in tendering processes, enabling them to better engage in the mining supply chain and secure contracts. It was a crucial step towards addressing the barriers that local companies face and ensuring that they are better positioned to take advantage of the opportunities within the region’s growing economy.

We are deeply grateful to Kansanshi Mining PLC for their invaluable support in making this training program a success. Their commitment to fostering local business growth through capacity-building initiatives is greatly appreciated.

As the NWCCI, we remain dedicated to ensuring that local companies have every opportunity to fully participate in the business landscape, and we will continue working on strategic partnerships that empower our local industries.
